Free Credit Reports

You are entitled to a free credit report from each of the three national consumer credit reporting companies: (Equifax , Experian & Transunion) once every 12 months.  Just go to www.annualcreditreport.com and follow the simple instructions. Please be warned. There is a company that heavily advertises “FreeCreditReport.com”.  Their service is ultimately not free.  Be careful not to use that web address.

You can also request your free annual credit reports by telephone or mail with the information provided at the Web site or from any of the three reporting companies.

• Monitoring your credit reports helps stop identity theft
• Mistakes do happen on credit reports and they can take time to fix; keeping reports accurate helps avoid delays when you need to apply for a loan
• Accurate credit reporting also helps insure you get the lowest rates possible; errors can lower your credit score and increase your rates
